Google images was nice enough to introduce me to these beautiful handmade posters from Belgium. They are posters for an exhibition made by the participating artists themselves. I’m guessing it’s some kind of adhesive paper / tape in glorious neon red and green they’ve used. Gotta love it.

This video made me a litle dizzy and I never saw Conan O’Brians final episode of The Tonight Show on NBC, but the typography is still very cool.

I stumbled upon this extraordinary piece of landscape while i was fiddling around with Google Earth the other day. Wikipedia states that: “Sheikh Hamad owns Futaisi Island, this has been handed down from father to son. It covers an area of 50 square kilometres …” I think it’s more than probable that this is that exact island, just outside Abu Dhabi. According to the scale on Google maps, the letters are approximately 480 meters high and the whole word is about 1,7 kilometers long! That should make the text around 1 360 500 pt.

Sheik Hamad is a cool sheik. Maybe a tad bit crazy, but still cool.

This is the first time I see a tagging survey. In Norwegian ”What do you think about this tag?”

Lately my main aim while walking around different trödels and flea markets here in Berlin has been to find vintage typography. I’ve found a few nice signs but I am still looking for that big scoop. While waiting for the latter I figured I could try to make my own letters and signs and researching this led me to the wonderful art of Steve Lambert!

I´m an Art Director at Tibe T advertising agency. I got that job recently, and my first job here was to make a logo for the musical Rock ´n Roll Wolf for Trøndelag Teater. The musical is based on the movie Mama. The lead characters is a goat and of course the wolf. And everything goes down in the forrest. My friend and work mate Aasmund suggested that I should go for a walk in a forrest. So to make the logo, I went to the forrest and found some tree bark. So the typography was made with bark. Here is the prosess:

The three images above, have not been touched by any Adobe programs yet.

Every letter gets a dash of Photoshop, and then put together:

And then the tweeking starts:

The letters got fatter, some colors and to be honest, a got a bit to much… So I did the vector boogie on the logo.. And I´m glad I did. POW the logo is all done:

I came across some cute plates of justnoey, a shop on Etsy today.  Behind the shop is a graphic designer / animator / photographer from London who is creating hand-printed transfers for ceramics and pottery. Why not eat your next hamburger on a “H” plate or cake on a “C” plate?

Famous for his hand drawn calendars and football championship charts – he is now taking the step towards photography; making type with his large record collection. So…. this poster and tons of mp3′s makes you look and sound like a dj with a big collection.

A friend of mine blogged about this a few weeks ago. I think this deserve yet another bloggpost. This is a commercial for the norwegian music festival ØYA. The company behind this ad call themselves Ren Reklame. Green graffiti or reverse graffiti is the technique they used. They use stencils and wash away dirt instead of spray paint. Nice work!

This is the first typeface I ever seen with a Facebook page. Stefán Kjartansson is the designer behind the black and bold Black Slabbath. And now his done it again :-)
